2000 Cabernet Sauvignon, Leaky Lake Vineyard
Planted in 1974, Leaky Lake Vineyard earned its name from the shale lake bed on the property. It's located at the top of Whitehall lane nestled in the Mayacamas Mountains, Napa Valley. These hillside old vines have produced many exceptional wines over the years. This is the second vintage of our effort to re-establish the vineyard, which yielded three barrels from 3 acres. Aged in new French oak for 22 months, we produced 72 cases.
Medium brick red color. Up front, intense cassis, black cherry and cocoa. On the palate, this wine is soft and supple with chocolate, coffee and vanilla, with a lengthy finish of sweet ripe cherry, mocha spice, plum and blackberry flavors.
