VIOGNIER

2007 VIO Viognier, Vista Verde Vineyards, San Benito County
Wine Spectator, May, 2010
87 Points
"Delivers a core of ripe peach, juicy and full-bodied, focused and aromatic with toasty notes. Details of apricot, apple blossom and spicy notes come in on the finish. Drink now through 2012. 450 cases made." –MW

"A fun wine that straddles that familiar California line between sweetness and dryness. The structure comes from acidity and minerals, while the richness is all about exotic tropical fruits, flowers and honey." - S.H.

"The vineyard is best known for a Williams Selyem Pinot Noir. Its a cool climate that ripens grapes well, but preserves plenty of acidity. This dry, barrel-fermented wine is complex and delicious, packed with Meyer lemon, pear, peach, tart green apple and spice flavors."

"This very rich, well-extracted and highly ripened Viognier is long on the varietal signature themes of sweet peaches and blossoms, and it shows an uncanny sense of sophistication in its finely fit pieces. It is a mouthfilling wine, yet it is not at all heavy and its scant glimmers of eleventh-hour heat are handily buffered by the long lasting fruit that guides the way from first sniff to finish."

"Citrus nose with balanced palate of citrus, peach and pear flavors with some tropical fruit; juicy, with good acidity; long finish."

Years Best Marsanne, Roussanne & Viognier
"The golden sun in a glass, this captures the richness and breadth of California-grown fruit and contrasts it with the Grillet-like tones of viognier grown toward a fresh nut flavor. Broad as it is, the wine remains subtle, with a lasting impression of fresh pear. Serve this cellar temperature for chicken roasted with oranges."

Vinum Cellars is a small California Winery well known for producing wines of the highest quality. The grapes are selected from premium coastal and cool climate growing areas within California. The wines are made by hand in small batches to allow the varietal character of each wine to express itself.

VINUM CELLARS
2007 PETS, Petite Sirah

"Two labels stood out from the pack when the bags came off in our blind tasting, including the PETS bottling from Vinum. "Pets" is an old nickname of Petite Sirah, and the bold black- and red-lettered label states that a portion of the profits from the sale of this wine will be donated to a San Francisco SPCA animal-shelter fund."
